Pre blog background info: I’ve been to this school before and live about 5m away from it and before I jokingly told my dad to keep me in Mary Ward because the school seems sketchy.(as a joke) Just wanted to put that out there in case any bias is sensed in this post.

Some schools have implemented metal detectors in the entrance of schools and use them to detect any weapons or anything that can harm a person.  But of course schools use this in extreme cases where there has been multiple cases of violent acts.  In a school like ours, I think it’s hard to spot bullying because the atmosphere feels relatively safe and there aren’t many cases of violence or bullying.At Mary Ward I think the TA system makes it easier for students to report any events that occur to them.  The guidance is also always open whenever and the people are very approachable.  Already we have  a strong connection between students and ad  It is important to note that this was an isolated incident and could have happened anywhere else and that the school is not specifically to blame.  I do believe that students play a larger role in preventing these events.  Students know what happen and who it happens to.  They also have the most power in the situation because they are within the situation in comparison to teachers.  Students need to be active in reporting and preventing bullying incidents in the future.

I think a cool new way to avoid these incidents in the future is to have a anonymous box where students can report incidents they see.  This way students would not be afraid to report any situations by eliminating the possibility that they may be afraid of how their peers will treat them afterwards.  If I know for a fact that many students dislike reporting events because of being involved with the situation.  They don’t like becoming a part of it as it wastes time that could be used for learning and the stigma that comes with it.  Students like myself are afraid of being the snitch.  In pop culture as well being a “snitch” is always a bad thing according to everyone in general.  But in cases like these being a snitch might have prevented the chance of serious injury and the life of the assaulter to be ruined for life.

Have phones changed relationships? Definitely by a lot.  Has it changed all my relationships? Definitely.  It is important however to note how it changes with everyone.  The differences fluctuate from good to bad bearing different levels of intensity.  Between my parents and I?  I guess it’s only been for the better.  We communicate while on the road more efficiently and my parents don’t have to scream their lungs away when I’m chilling downstairs and they need some help on the second floor.  Between friends, social media has changed everything.  I unfortunately live in a generation where not liking someone’s post on instagram can be the end of a friendship.  I know people who value instagram “likes” way too much and are being slaves to the opinions of others.  Social media has given people a chance to be one with one another without actually being with one another.  This can be good or bad depending on how conceited or modest you are.  Some people like being the center of attention and use social media to do so, some like me just like texting friends when they normally can’t communicate.

I think my phone does me more good than bad in school.  While I have to admit every now and then I whip out my phone to check instagram or twitter I do benefit from it greatly.  From my phone I can access millions of data bases at a fraction of a second. (Or I could if it wasn’t for the snail slow tcdsb wi-fi).  Regardless I digress.  I appreciate the freedom our school gives us despite the abuse it regularly takes from procrastinating students.  Truthfully even I don’t know how to solve that problem.  One idea that could be flawed or amazing depending on execution could be a way to track how students are doing and cancelling their individual wifi based on behaviour and how they are with units.  If a student has been caught multiple times not doing work and procrastinating then take away their wi-fi privileges or at least limit it.  Similarly if a T.A suspects that internet may be taking a role or taking time away from work then he/she will have the capability of terminating a student's ability to connect to wi-fi.

As a fan of many celebrities that indulge in some activities some may find not suitable at all, I believe that people like me support artists because of different reasons that don’t include how saintly they are.  I follow many rappers in general and on their social media they often flaunt their lifestyle.  Many people see the drugs and the guns and automatically see the negatives and turn away from it immediately.  I on the other hand follow these people for their poetry and the stories they paint with words.  It is also important to note that even though I follow these people I do not blindly follow like sheep to a shepperd.  I listen to the music and the poetry but it doesn’t necessarily mean I want to grow up like them, wear baggy pants and commit crimes with my life.  These people inspire me because of their art, not their lifestyle.  To summarize, will I listen to these people and be inspire because of the artistic legacy they are creating? Yes.  Will I look up to these people as a fellow artist looking to elevate his quality of work? Yes.  Will I look up to these people as role models?  Depends, I like the work ethic and the dedication to the game but not the drug dependency and the substance abuse.

I believe that celebrities are not above the law and should be under the rules and regulations us regular folk go through.  However life is not fair and as a result celebrities have a bit of elevation above us.  Many celebrities, Britney Spears, Macaulay Culkin, Justin Bieber have done heinous crimes that should be punished but are not.  If they do then why are they getting away from it clean? I can answer that question with the famous Wu Tang clan verse from their hit song C.R.E.A.M.  Cash rules everything around me, get the money dollar dollar bills y’all.  Why money do you ask?  What does Justin, Britney and thousands of other celebrities have that you and I normal people don’t?  Money, the moolah, dough, potatoes.  Bribes and nice lawyers are why they get away from these things.  Bribe the judge or use a Harvard lawyer that’s fighting for a celebrity that doesn’t deserve his help instead of someone who can’t afford to even go to the courtroom and is being unjustly persecuted.  Is it fair? H-e double hockey stick no.  But what can we do?

Post blog le rant:  Actually if we boycotted artists that don’t deserve their fame we could solve this problem but there will always be blind followers and there’s nothing we can do.

Even before this post was used on the blog I'd already heard about it on several YouTube channels. Someone like myself who does not frequently visit Facebook, the form of media this viral trend has sparked from and spread from would probably share this as well or maybe even retweet it on twitter. But of course I do have an appreciation for basic math and know it's wrong, I 'd probably share it for the novelty of it and for the laughs of someone being dim witted enough to think that there'd be enough money to bless everyone in America with a million dollars of cold hard cash.

Most people are easily persuaded and have their thoughts and actions based on the internet.  Many focus their beliefs on the internet as well.  Some even going as far as believing everything they read.  While these people not conscious of their own ignorance they are also at fault.  Not everything on the internet is real and factual.  Remember the rumoured celebrity deaths that pop up every once in awhile, that should be proof enough to how unreliable of a source the internet generally is.  It's just as easy to put up information as it is to obtain information.  But then again who's fault is it?  The dumb people thinking that everything on the internet is real or the masterminds that write these false articles knowingly or unknowingly.

Personally I blame the people.  If you knowingly believed the internet without sufficient proof.  You're kinda part of the problem.  Actually no, scratch that, that is the entire problem.  People won't be trying to control others if others won't allow them.  So then shouldn't we just stop the spreaders of information?  Well it's a bit of both.  Both would also stay and be there regardless anyways no matter what course of action we take.

  Though majority still believe in everything in the internet.  People have always believed in irrefutable things, it's unavoidable, just another testament to how much easier it is to access power thanks to the internet.
